Ideas like travelling, PM too!

Since its creation, volunteers from the Paris-Montagne association initiated and/or participated to several projects around the world. We were asked to list these actions, here it is!
  • Croatia, Zagreb, Science Festival, April 2007: we presented lectures about the use of science communication to tackle social issues, and we collaborated with the organiser in order to plan further involvement of students within their festival.
  •

  • Croatia, Split, Summer Science Factory, July 2007: we mentored during 6 months the student organisers of the first “summer science” factory to be held in Split. The 2 weeks workshop welcomed 30 kids in order to discover scientific research within a research institute.
  •

  • Portugal, Lisbon, “Cienca Viva” Science Festival, November 2007: we presented a theatre clown show about science, to this science festival.
  •

  • Croatia, Zagreb Science Festival, March 2008: we organised 2 days of training to science communication for university students. The students received credit for this training and created workshop. These workshop were then presented in the science festival a month later.
  •

  • Russia, Moscow, scientific workshops, June 2008: we collaborated by sending trained and experienced volunteers.
  •

  • Croatia, Vukovar, scientific workshop addressing issues about conflict, January 2010: we conceived, organised and delivered workshops in the heavily destroyed city of Vukovar, where communities of Serbs and Croats still live appart. These workshops mixed art and science and managed to bridge young people from both communities.
  •

  • Israel, Jerusalem, Bloomfield Science Museum, October 2010: we presented at the museum small theatre plays about science created by French high-schools students from disadvantaged areas.
  •

  • Palestine, First Palestinian Science Festival, November 2010: we fully conceived and organised a 10-day science festival, held in Gaza, Nablus, Jerusalem, Hebron, Ramallah and Bethleem. 8 000 people attended. The contents of the festival were both French contents and Palestinian ones. We also trained university students in Nablus to improve the workshop they were delivering.
  •

  • Italy & Belgium, 2 Ways European collaboration, autumn-winter 2010: we were selected to be part of the "2 ways" project, coordinated by EUSCEA. We created together with the Perugia Science Festival an innovative workshop allowing to discuss ethical issues about synthetic biology. This has been presented in our Festival in Paris, in Perugia and in Brussel.
